The Addams Family is back.

There have been quite a few years since we last got a new iteration for this gothic family. And not everyone was a big fan of the movie which is to be expected. However, people usually get excited whenever Tim Burton announces something new and the same has happened with this new Netflix series. We heard there might be a new series for the Addams Family months back but nothing was sure.

Well, fans don’t have to fret anymore as we have confirmation that Jenna Ortega has been cast as the elusive Wednesday Addams. While we still don’t know who will be playing the other characters, this is a start. There are some rumors that Tim Burton was Johnny Depp in this new series but nothing is confirmed yet so only time will tell. Wednesday will be taking the center stage in this new adaptation as she solves mysteries with her abilities while also dealing with problems that come with being a student at Nevermore Academy.

According to Netflix Executives, they loved the idea of this series.

Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago – all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships of the strange and diverse student body.

We then got the call that visionary director and lifelong Addams Family fan Tim Burton wanted to make his television directorial debut with this series. Tim has had a history of telling empowering stories about social outsiders like Edward Scissorhands, Lydia Deetz, and Batman. And now he brings his unique vision to Wednesday and her spooky classmates at Nevermore Academy. -Netflix
