A birth can be a stressful process.

It is usually because the mother-in-law wants to be there as well but there is never enough space for every to squish into the room. Hospitals usually only allow two close people in the room with the mother. So it is not uncommon to see their significant other and their parent. I can understand the mother-in-law wanting to see the baby being born but it is not a spectator sport and the decisions should fall on the person giving birth.

I am surprised by how childish the husband acted in this instance. Pregnancy can be hard on the body and your hormones get messed up as well. So rather than supporting her throughout this difficult time, he decided to stress her out even more. I always say that communication is key and that you should give it a fair go before calling it quits but this is something else. I can only hope it turns out alright for her.
